Hey, here is a cool video of jeri ellsworth on a local news report:

http://blip.tv/file/749800/

[To be exact, the report is from KGW-TV in Portland, OR, and Jeri speaks a bit about her history and the creation of the C64 DTV 30-games-in-one joystick.]

This video dates from late 2004.  It seems as though Jeri hasn't been very visible in the recent past.  One hardly reads or hears anything about her anymore in the "mainstream press."  Was this another computer flash-in-the-pan?
x86?  We ain't got no x86.  We don't need no stinking x86!

Jeri appeared at CommVEx and the Emergency Chicagoland Commodore Convention last year, in addition to several "hackers'" events.  She will next speak at the Block Party 2008 in a few weeks.

Heh, the mainstream press only goes with what is the "fad" or unusual.

I've had my run-in's with them before,

Heh. Robert's just torqued that the mainstream media hasn't given him his 15 minutes of fame yet. :)

Robert picture does appear in this Der Spiegel article about Jeri. Unfortunately he is described as a "grottenolmig" which is hard to explain but highly unflattering. The article originally appeared in the GEE and their caption was "Computer nerd in front of his Jeri-Shrine". Not much better. :)

Been there, done that.  The biggest being in Wired magazine and in the Los Angeles Times.
I remember the incident at MicroPalooza 2003.  A local Portland reporter was bugging Jeri during the show.  I walked up to listen, and then Jeri deftly turned the reporter to me (and she then smoothly snuck away).  Whoa, I had to think fast on my feet in order to answer all of his questions (which were all a bit off... hey, he was a reporter... what did he know about 8-bit computers?).  It was good I had had practice with previous reporters at Classic Gaming Expos et al.
Even Jack Tramiel had his run-in with such reporters at the December 10 Impact of Commodore 64 event at the Computer History Museum.  You grit your teeth, give a smile, and try to give information which they won't screw up

Darn reporters! (including those in Germany)

I've been on the other side as a journalist, begging clueless computer company executives to PLEASE let me speak to someone who knows what they're talking about. They generally just turn on that 'executive grin' and keep repeating what the PR people told them to say.

The Blip.tv video of Jeri Ellsworth has been upgraded and reposted.  It is now plays much more smoothly.  It is still at the same place --  http://blip.tv/file/749800/

Is there any way to download the videos from blip.tv so I can save them for later viewing?

Yes, just click on the file download link (in this case, it would be the .mov file).

Ah, that simple huh? :)

But I must be doing something wrong because I can only see like 15-20 seconds of the clip, and then it ends. It ends exactly at the same point both when being streamed and when being downloaded and watched :(

The downloaded file is only 519 KB.

Oh-oh, BIOS did not tell me anything was wrong with the upload.  Blip.tv reported that it was successfully uploaded.

                   I'll investigate,

Well, BIOS told me that it was checked twice this evening, and both times it played all the way through.

With a very nice picture, too,

I just downloaded the .mov file.  It downloaded the full 136MB file, and it plays for 2 minutes and 7 seconds.
