Here's another disk that you may not want to add to your collection... :)

Well... I've been a proud owner of a C=128 for about 2 months now... Went to move the machine into another room and in the process dropped the power supply.  The 'puter fired up for about 5 seconds then nada... Nothing... I've checked the fuse and it still seems to be OK.  Now I guess I'll just tear the power supply apart and hopefully somehow fix it.  Anyways... I'm hoping it's just the power supply...

What a piss off!!!

Software / PaperClip III

If anyone's interested.  I can post a few .d64's of the best, in my opinion, C128 word processor.  If anyone's interested in the C64 version, I can post that as well...

GEOS / GeoProgrammer C=128 patch
March 16, 2008, 05:40 AM
Well... I finally managed to track down a copy of GeoProgrammer.  I was impressed with the ads back-in-the-day that showed bitmaps being included in the source code and the assembler would translate the included pic to code.

Now, I just run Geos128, so GeoProgrammer for the 64 was kind of useless, but I seen on Zimmers a patch.  Well, after a disk image was flanged together, I tried to patch GeoProgrammer.  I kept getting errors.  The patch couldn't find the files.  After throwing the patch into a hex editor I found the problem.  Turns out the patcher is expecting filenames in all capitals.  So just rename the three main files it patches with all capital letters and it patches fine and you'll have a Geos128 compatible GeoProgrammer.

Now I just need a SuperCPU and Wheels... and an FD-2000... and an RS-232 adapter... and etc, etc...

CP/M / Finally got some stuff transfered...
March 13, 2008, 04:58 PM
Becoming a C128 owner a few months ago, after being an Atari guy for years, I've been eager to explore the CP/M capabilities of the C128.  There's lots of CP/M software available on the web, however, transfering the contents of a .zip to something that a Commodore can work with was a little bit of a challenge.

Tonight I got around to transferring Turbo Pascal 3.0 and dBASE-II 2,43 to a .d64 and .d71 respectively in C128 CP/M format for transfer to a real floppy.  All screen control codes used by these programs are C128 compatible as well, so they both work as they should.  I'll be working on more CP/M titles to .d64 or .d71 (depending on size of program) in the next few days...

I now finally have a decent pascal compiler and database for my wee 8bit beast...  Tomorrow I think I'll make a .d64 of HiSoft's DevPac for CP/M..

Herdware / The Servant
February 26, 2008, 04:54 PM
Just a quck question for you guys...

I just bought a 128 off of eBay and it has 'The Servant' installed.  Nice little program.  Had the 64 or 128 had something like that built in back-in-the-day I would've wanted a Commodore, rather than Atari (I know, I know) when I was younger.  OK... to the point... How do I enter The Servant again?  My 128 came with no manuals.

Another question...

I see that there's 'a few months', etc. wait for new stuff from www.cmdrkey.com.  Is it worth it?  If I pay, will I receive?  I would love an FD-2000 or two and a SuperCPU...
