Title: Electronic projects for the C64 and C128
Post by: Mark Smith on August 18, 2006, 05:24 PM
Hi there,

I managed to get hold a real interesting book the other day "Electronic Projects for your Commodore 64 and 128" by John Iovine.

Got some nifty things to make :

Speech synthesizer
A to D conversion
Digital Audio recording/playback
Motor control
Digital camera!
And loads of other stuff on how to hook stuff to the userport.

What would be the legality of doing a scan and OCR of it and posting it here ?

Would make some great projects for people to play with and expand on.

I have this as an A3 photocopy that I got some around 200 when I picked up a large amount of Commodore stuff from an Op Shop (along with a whole heap of other photocopied boks as well). It has some excellent projects in it but I've never really had the time to start anything :(

Also my copy is a rather poor copy so I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a scan.

I'm not sure about the legality, but I can speak for interest: very interested!

Well I've scanned some of it so far, but I have a request .. does anyone have some good OCR software ?  And would that person be able to run the scans through it ?  Make sense to not have to  type in all the BASIC/ML routines :-)

Well I've scanned a few pages, but mainly just been really slack :-)  Once I get enough I'll be forwarding them on to for a bit of OCRing then I guess they'll be uploaded.

Another task that would need to be done is to find equivilant modern day parts that could be used, some of the parts mentioned are not in production anymore but there might be a compatible one thats replaced it.

Regards

Mark
