Title: Dolphin Dos
Post by: smf on November 20, 2007, 09:19 PM
I have a 1541 with dolphin dos, but no roms for my c128.

Vice has started supporting dolphin dos, but even so there seems to be a lack of rom images on the net.

Can anyone help?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but some quick searches revealed these sites:

Floppy and Kernal ROM images (scroll down to 'ROM images'):

Some docs on installing Dolphin DOS:

Dolphin DOS for the 128? This is the first I'm hearing of such a beast. To the best of my knowledge, it was only ever released for the 64 and the 1541 and I put the images on my website for you. You can download them here (http://www.vex.net/~falco/petscii/dolphin.zip).

Thanks for that.

according to:

http://project64.c64.org/hw/dolphindos.txt
http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Comp/comp.sys.cbm/2005-09/msg00210.html

there is a different kernal for the 128 & the 64 kernal doesn't even work on a 128 in 64 mode.

From what I have found out by poking about, dolphin dos 3 was designed for the 1571 & it had a 6821 and the ram was at a different location because the 1571's rom was bigger.

dolphin dos for the 1581 would be pretty awesome.

I'd try to contact Nicolas Welte.  I saw some old newsgroup posts where he said he had the 128 ROM.  You can probably find a way of contacting him here: http://x1541.de/
