Title: PROMOS 2.0 & PromShell v2.0
Post by: Andrew Wiskow on November 29, 2007, 07:52 PM
I searched everywhere I could think of for d64's of PROMOS 2.0 and PromShell v2.0, but I couldn't find d64's anywhere.  I found individual prg files from the PROMOS 2.0 disk on Ray Carlsen's website, and I found .sfx files for PromShell v2.0 on Bo Zimmerman's website.  I got them onto real disks, and I made d64's of each.  Both of these are now available for downloading as d64's on my website (http://mysite.verizon.net/wiskow).  The PromShell disk is ready to go with the required PROMOS 2.0 file already added to it.  Also, for historical value, I also put a d64 of PROMOS 1.1 on my site as well (I couldn't find that anywhere in any form).  Enjoy.  :)

PROMOS is the software you need to use the Promenade C1 EPROM programmer.  PromShell is a shell program that was written to work together with PROMOS, making it MUCH easier to use for those of us that are ML-dumb (like me).  PROMOS will work in both 128 and 64 modes.  PromShell, on the other hand, only works in 64 mode.  The author explains that he wanted to write it for 80-column 128 mode, but he changed his mind when he realized that the Promenade C1 interferes with the 128's RGBI port.
