Title: Ebay competition

So, I was pursuing ebay, and ran across this gem:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Commodore-1571-Disk-Drive-w-original-box-cables_W0QQitemZ170144027051QQihZ007QQcategoryZ74945QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

$100 for a 1571! Wow!  And the shipping is a flat $30.  Now THERES a guy who knows how to sell Commodore equipment!

I say we start a little competition, just for fun... find the most expensive, over-priced Ebay Commodore equipment you can find.  Hardware only though. Software tends to be all over the place.  And who knows, maybe in the process you might find something worth bidding on.

If that were a european 1571 in the uk then I'd bite his hand off, does anyone know if they are dual voltage and can run on 230 volts?

North American 1571's are 110V only.

BTW any 1571 that has been stored with its drive door open is probably f*cked.  The upper head will be misaligned due to the crappy thin metal plate head mount being deformed/cracked.

Save yourself the grief and look for one that has been stored with the head protector sheet in place and the drive door closed!

Sorry for the thread hijack

How about a Commodore VIC-20 (monitor not included) for $160?  Thats nearly $50 per KB of RAM!
