Title: Internal disk Drive
Post by: zeke1312 on December 06, 2007, 06:13 AM
I'm looking for an internal 3.5" for replacement of the disk drive in my 1581. Any idea where I can get? I've seen the Panasonic JU257 on several web sites but there are many variations of the same designator description. Also I read where the Chinon FB354 is another replacement.

Since I've seen the price listed as low as $15.00 it's better than trying to adjust/align my present 1581.

You can always rip one out of an Amiga 500.

I've found three of the Panasonic drives at my local computer recycler so far. Just dig through the stack of 3.5" drives every weekend, and after awhile you'll find a couple. It took me about 6 months to find 3, but they were only $3 apiece. And I found lots of other stuff I couldn't live without in the process, like 4 C64s, 11 1541s, and a half dozen C64 power supplies. :)

Hmm... Sounds like I need to visit Iowa!  ;)
