Title: Fiddling again....

I've modified the index page so it acts like a 'mini-portal'. Any issues let me know.

Works on FireFox & IE7, dunno about IE6.

The main forum page and each topic page is screwy in IE6.  There is a 25% empty margin on the right of the page below the top/horizontal menu.  Oddly, the Announcment section is half-baked; the color/top part has the 25% empty right margin, while the white/bottom part is full-width.

Then below all the topics (main index) or all posts (of a topic) there is a vertical stack of options/menus that are left-aligned with about a 75% margin on the right.  I'm guessing these should be to the left of the main stuff.

I dunno why it works in IE7 but not 6.  My guess is a broken table/tag structure that is automagically fixed by IE7.  Unless you're not using tables...

Back when I did HTML stuff, I always tested with Netscape because it didn't do any table 'correction'.  If you're tags were bad, you'd know it right away!

Good luck!

Only IE6 then (IE5 is ok believe it or not) Firefox is (obviously) ok & the below screenshot is of Netscape 7.2. IE6 is obviously brain damaged in some way. I'm disinclined to "fix" it as the Apache logs indicate that out of 8665 visits to the site this month, only 239 used MSIE 6.0, the largest share went to Firefox & IE7 (fairly even) with a slew of other coming in around the same level as IE6.

I'd suspect most of our regulars are not using IE6 anyway.

Netscape 7.2:

Not your fault!  I found the problem is in the Google script...  If I cut that from the HTML code then the page displays fine in IE6.  Let's blame Google (it gets old blaming MS for everything).

For the heck of it, I popped over to yourcommodore.com and noticed the page DOES display correctly in IE6 but in that case, the Google ad is in the left-hand div.  Go figure.

On closer inspection, only the Index page shows correctly.  Other pages, such as Forums is messed up.  But differently than the C128 Alive site.  This time the main content has a 25% left margin (again the left-menus all appear below the main content).

I wish I could down-grade to IE4.  :D

P.S.
The URL for 'Your Commodore' listed under 'More Links' is faulty.
