Title: Nineteen years old & still going....
Post by: Blacklord on October 15, 2006, 11:52 AM
The 16th of October marks the 19th birthday of the BBS (in one form or another). looking back, it's rather interesting to compare what was the board then & now :

1987 - the BBS launched (as Landover Amiga BBS) on a Commodore Amiga 1000 (7.14MHz) with 512k of RAM, 4x 880k floppies & a 1200 baud modem (what speed!). It ran under BBS-PC! 4.20

2006 - EleBBS for the Telnet board on a 3GHz completely over the top PC with s**tloads of additions, 1500/1500 ADSL link, hosted site for the web pages & a slew of software to run it all....

Times change......
