Title: AMG 531 for chronic ITP
Post by: DaveBruns on July 09, 2008, 02:44 PM
Those on AMG 531  for  Chronic ITP.
Marvelous stuff. Holy water - better than Lourdes & Ganges Water mixed together.
3 injections only -- to date.
have been on platelet count of 6 or less, forever.  NO results with other treatments.
Trust AMGEM  have this accepted in Australia, for PBS.
Week 1 =  6 on platelet Count;   Week 2 =  98 ;  Week 3 = 197
HOW GOOD IS THAT -  when 7 months of other treatments have slipped back to very low, the day after Platelets;human Immunoglobulin & Steroids administered.
Australian Government MUST accept.

Wow! This is GREAT news, BDD! See, I told you those medical guys would come up with something. Good to hear you're on the mend. Hopefully for good.

I'm getting the feeling that 128 Alive! is appearing on the first page of Google search results for queries about something relating to ITP.

AMG531 has been released for general usage and is covered by insurance (although skinflints like Blue Cross will try to twist the patient's arm into using an older and less expensive treatment).  The best part is that it can be self-administered via subcutaneous injection and is no more a pain to deal with than insulin (which I inject four times daily).  The technical name for AMG531 is romiplostim and it works by amping up the production of platelets.
