They should have started the auction at $1 and let it go where it goes. Such a high starting bid, especially when the description of what is included is vague and the conditions specific, generally means an auction with no bidders. When will people learn...

Heh, a friend e-mailed this to me on the day it came out, asking if I'd be interested. It is too far to go (6-7 hour drive), it is not during my off-time, and of course, there is the problem of storing everything. With one storage house, one storage unit, and my own house, there's already too much stuff... and more coming in from the Bay Area regularly!

Just what IS your address anyway, Robert? >:D

With a little bit of investigation and deduction, you can find out where I live. However, you still won't know where the storage house and the storage unit are. :)
And don't get me confused
with other Robert Bernardo's,
which others have done!

Amazingly, there are still 0 bids. I wonder if this will get re-listed 3 times before there's a buyer just like the 64 & More auction... I agree 100% with Golan; they should've started low and let it get bid up rather than trying to start high.
Especially since this is an estate sale of sorts - one of the owners died and they want to liquidate. I'm sure they want to get as much as possible, but people don't understand that auctions are really one of the few bastions of pure capitalism left. Goods will only bring in a price that is totally in line with demand.
Jeezus.. so THATS what happened to Commodore once the offices shut down.
Cant say Id want THAT much stuff, but it'd would be pretty cool to go out there and rummage around...
Whoever buys that stuff is going to need to spend some time debugging and I'm not talking about software here. :)
Well, that auction ended (surprise, surprise) with 0 bids.
And I was right, they did relist it (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360092709872). But they didn't lower the price... They listed it for the exact same price. Brilliant. ???
They've relisted (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360099275752) it yet again (what is this, the fourth or fifth time?) at the same price. I can appreciate waiting for the right buyer to come along but this is just silly.
The photos don;t actually sell it do they ? "Look a big pile of stuff thrown in a shed!" :-)
It's a scrap pile basically :-(

Yeah, some people obviously have a hard time "getting it". :|
Since it's an estate thing, my guess is that the heirs set a floor on what they're willing to accept as a group.
Been there, done that. My dad died over four years ago and his railroad collection is still sitting at my sister's house in Texas while she and my other sister wrangle over the best way to dispose of it. *sigh*

Sorry to hear that. My parents just completed their trusts, and hopefully, there won't be any wrangling when the time comes.

For anyone keeping track, it ended (again) with 0 bids. It hasn't been re-listed (yet).

Hey, if it keeps going like this, it's going to run into my 3-week Christmas vacation. Hmm...

Something to consider, eh? Maybe you should "make them an offer they can't refuse". ;)

You mean I should be a Commodore Godfather?! I just need to put some cotton balls in the mouth and gain plenty of weight. ;-)

Precisely! :D
I've been keeping an eye out to see if this collection got relisted again, but so far, it hasn't. It makes me wonder if an off-eBay "deal" was made. I hope all that stuff didn't get sent to the scrapyard! :|
Awesome! Four sheds full of Commodore goodies? Sorry but I can't bring myself to shell out $2000 for the stuff. Anyone contact the seller to see if it's still available? Can anyone "see" an Amiga 4000 in the bunch? Or is this guy yanking the Commodore enthusiasts chain? Might as well say there's a MAX Machine and a C65 as well!
I just sent the seller a message on eBay to ask of the current status of this lot. If I get a response, I'll post here to let everyone know what they said...
It's been a week since I sent that message, and I still haven't received a response... :(
