Hey guys,
I have bought a 1764 RAM expander off Ebay, but its just the board. It works fine - dunno how it lost its case. Just tossing out there, if anyone has an old broken RAM expander that is collecting dust, I could use the case. PM me if so.
Thanks
X
Just so you know, a 1700 or 1750 case will fit, too. :)
Im not really sure what model I have actually (top of my head).. I *think* its a 256MB one. I thought about trying to make a case, so that its not sticking out like it is. But yeah, any of the above would help.
Hmm... This brings a question to mind... Is there an easy line of code to type to check how big your REU is if you don't know? The easiest way I know of is with the Servant function ROM, but what if you have a stock C128?

256MB? I think you should just sell it as is. You'd get a fortune. :)

PRINT PEEK(DEC("DF00"))AND8
If you have an REU plugged in and this displays '1', you've got a 1750; if '0' it's a 1700 or 1764. But you can't tell those two apart without checking RAM. (Bit 4 of $DF00 is a switch which indicates the size of the RAM chips.)
There's an ML code listing on Codebase that tests for REU type: http://codebase64.org/doku.php?id=base:reu_detect

Hehehe... How did I miss that? :D
lol...ditto ;)
One heck of a RAM expander, eh?
QuotePRINT PEEK(DEC("DF00"))AND8
Ahem, that's BANK 15:PRINT PEEK(DEC("DF00"))AND8.

OT but when digging around storage the other day, I found an empty 1581 case.

Get a board from Joe Palumbo, hook up one of your spare mechs, and you're in business! ;)

Not a priority right now. Must pay Jim Brain for a uIEC, buy a Radeon 9250 board for the A1, and get AmigaOS 4.1.
