Title: my sick 128 video
Post by: nathanallan on November 18, 2008, 05:37 PM
I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so I am starting a new one.

I have a sick 128, and now I can actually show what's going on with it. There could be several things up with it, so bring on the suggestions.

Also, sorry so dark, my light wasn't the greatest.

I'm thinking that the chips both need replacing, as well as the crystal in there. Heck, it may be just the soldering was done badly and it needs re-working.

capacitors.

I had tearing like that on a Strategy-X arcade PCB, which I cured by replacing a bunch of the power rail filter caps dotted around the PCB.

That seems to be the main point of anyone's advice, so I will be checking out all the capacitors in there. There's been no time lately, now I have to wait until Saturday when my shop will be open again. The shop is a small thing I do inside a friend's bookstore, and he's closed till then.
