Hi all,
Does anyone know if Merlin 128 is available for download somewhere ? Or can someone post it to this board perhaps ? I have a few 64 packages, but not a single 128 one and I believe Merlin is one of the better ones.

I actually have this in an archive that I'm currently in the middle of restoring. Will post it up in the relevant file area (eventually!)
cheers,
Lance

Anybody have the documentation for Merlin 128?
Yeah, I've been looking for those docs too, to no avail so far...maybe, if the "official docs" are nowhere to be found, perhaps someone here that knows it could possibly write up something for us novices to learn from, a tutorial perhaps? :-).
That would be might kewl of ya. :-)
There is a list of Merlin pseudo-ops here: http://landover.no-ip.com/128/olate/details.php?file=983 It's a zipped pdf file - sorry if that ruins anybody's day.
Back when I first started using Merlin, I couldn't find any manuals for it. The closest I came was a portion of a manual from the Apple II version, which someone had e-texted, so I used that as a guide and picked up the rest of what I needed by trial and error. Considering how powerful Merlin is, it's also surprisingly forgiving and straightforward. Between this list of pseudo-ops and the examples on the disk, there should be enough information to make good use of the software.
There are still some errors in my list, and it's by no means a comprehensive guide to using Merlin, but it's a place to start. Perhaps this thread can become a repository about our "useful discoveries."
Awesome...I've looked at this list, and well, not bad at all. It's gonna be quite useful. But I bet, once I get started really learning the real stuff, i'll be discovering a heck of alot of things hehe.
Thanks for sharing that. :-). My next months of sleepless nights are your fault...lol.
Merlin came from the Apple, and the Apple came from Woz. 6502.org says the Merlin assembler incorporated Woz's 'Sweet 16' 16-bit CPU emulator. Does that mean the Sweet 16 routines and op codes are available when programming with Merlin, even on the C64/128? That would be cool.

I have a pdf and MSword file of the Merlin 128 V1.0 Manual. I will send them to airship so he can post them.
Dan...
airship, did you receive the files? :P
Dan...
Got 'em, but haven't had time to even look at them tonight. Hopefully by tomorrow night, but certainly by the weekend, at least.
Sorry about the delay...
Have (finally!) uploaded a ZIP file containing the Merlin128 d64 file and the PDF documentation he so carefully prepared.
Sorry about the delay. You can find it here as soon as nikoniko makes it public:

I could scan in my Merlin 128 manual including the Quick Reference card if that would help?
Sorry, Airship uploaded the docs to the PDF library, but that's currently down while I'm inbetween servers. I'll upload them somewhere else temporarily and post a link here after I do.
Here you go (thanks, Dan and Mark!): Merlin 128 Docs (https://s3.amazonaws.com/PDFLibrary/merlin128docs.zip?AWSAccessKeyId=1HRMEWQEGRPH6DWHCBG2&Signature=bEDNjHbKZY1Cu349MCyQ7wB6JRM%3d&Expires=1825984108)
The URL will automatically expire on 11/11/2027, so anyone who wants the docs had better hurry and grab them. :P

Hmm... Only 20 years, huh? :P
Does anyone need an original Merlin 64 or Merlin 128 disk? I have them both, and I'm not using either of them.

Yep. Seems to be the upper limit for public links to files stored on Amazon S3. The file might still be there, if I continue paying my bill and Amazon is still in business 20 years from now, but the link itself must die. :(
In 20 years I'll only be 76. I'd better hurry and make a backup.
Safety first.
First I'd like to thank Dan, Airship, and Nikoniko for making this all come together! I was curious why the link is to a secure server (httpS) ? Is it a special link only for us forum members? Makes me feel special :P

Hmm... didn't even notice that! Probably since I uploaded over a secure connection, Amazon decided to generate the link the same way. Straight Http works fine though.
But hey, just because it was unintentional doesn't mean you guys are any less special. :P

I did some more digging today, and I came across an original copy of Abacus Software's Super Pascal-128. I'll gladly send this to anyone who can use it. I still have the Merlin 64 and Merlin 128 disks I mentioned earlier, too.
-Andrew
Can you convert to D64 and upload?

I figured these were already available, although I haven't looked for them myself. But if they're not, let me know, and I'd be happy to make some D64's.
-Andrew
I just sent a D64 of Super Pascal-128 to Lance. :)
-Andrew
Yep, got it thanks!
Now tehre's a language I know. I always loved pascal I can't wait for lance to make it available. but hey, if you got a sec ;-) send it my way too ;-). Shhh I promise I won't tell ;-). hehe

Woohooo...got it, seems to load up fine. :-)...excellent...
now, to see if any reference of any kind exists for it. ;-). I'm a bit rusted since I haven't used it in a good long while ;-)
Hey Mystik... dunno why Im thinking about this, but your sig line... lets consider... God created light first. But there was still nothing. (But by God you could see it) So, *technically*... there was still no shadow yet... heheh...
LOL....you're the first to analyze this in about 4 years ;-). ok so maybe shadows were the 4th creation since you needed a solid object and a surface for the solid object to cast it's shadlw on. ;-)..

It seems like this didn't make it until 2027... And now I need it! Does anyone know of another place where the Merlin 128 docs can be downloaded? I've searched to no avail. :(

$20.00 + S/H.

Andrew, It was included on the CD that came with your Clone Programmer.
Dan...
I just discovered this thread. I have a need for the Merlin 128 docs as well, and can't locate anywhere online.
Anyone willing for email me a copy or make them available somewhere for download?
many thanks...
Ah! Thanks for the reminder, Dan!
Joe, if I can track down that CD, I'll get the docs posted on my server, and I'll post the link to it here.
