Post by: SmallCleverDinosaur on January 22, 2009, 09:15 PM
Here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Commodore-PET-2001N-1979_W0QQitemZ150322188700QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_VintageComputing_RL?hash=item150322188700&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A4%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318) is a real rarity on ebay. The very first model of the Commodore PET-line, the 2001. Must be very hard to find these days :) (Itemnumber 150322188700).

Yeah, I got to see Robert's "chicklet PET" in action at an FCUG meeting.  :)

That one looks like it's in excellent condition, and it's the original owner, too.  Bidding is already up to £73, and with 7½ days left in the auction.  It'll be interesting to see what the final sale price is.

Yes, it should be making its reappearance at the April 5 MossyCon 5.  For those who want to see it now, go to

and click on the pertinent photos.

I just found another PET 2001 on Tradera (http://www.tradera.com/auction/auction.aspx?aid=83156041), the Swedish version of ebay. The starting price for this unit is SEK 1.00 or about 10-15 US cents!

Bargain!  :)
There's an interesting external power pack on this PET 2001.  It seems to have a few more scratches than mine, and there is wear on the space bar and return key, whereas mine only has wear on the return key.  The cassette drive doesn't have the chrome applique.
