Title: Moving the PET/CBM II forums
Post by: Blacklord on January 24, 2009, 01:39 AM
This weekend I'll be creating the PET/CBM II forums within the structure of the C128 (http://landover.no-ip.com/forums/) forums - makes sense as all the users are the same on both boards anyway :)

What I won't be doing is moving the messages - I'll leave a link in place for the old PET forums but they will be read only.

I hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone too much!

Given that the forum already includes areas for other Commodore machines, rather than calling it "Commodore 128 (& PET) Alive!", wouldn't it make more sense just to call it "Commodore Alive!"??

Maybe - but the focus is on these two "forgotten by the rest of the community" machines.

The signal to noise ratio here is very, very low, if we open up to all CBM machines to a greater degree we'd probably end up with some of the factionalism & infighting that exists elsewhere.

However, I'm always open to suggestions from our little community (by that I mean the one here & not the wider CBM community) & will happily implement whatever you guys want - after all, I'm just the host - the party is for you guys :)

I'm all for keeping the signal to noise ratio low.  ;)

I vote for C128 purity. The C128 is my one true love.

If I want to listen in on the C64 buzz, I go over to Lemon64. Kim does a good job over there, and there's plenty of action. The S/N ratio is not as good as it is here, but that's to be expected.

As for PET, I never owned one (though I DID have an Ohio Scientific Challenger 1P, which was essentially a PET clone). The small amount of interest I have in them is strictly historical.

So, C128 all the way! Yeah!
