I've got an 8050 Disk Drive I want to connect to my 8096-SK, but i need a Suitable cable, I've seen a couple of these GPIB cables advertised
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GPIB-IEEE-488-HP-IB-Lead-0-6M-Long-by-NI-763061-005_W0QQitemZ280123907872QQihZ018QQcategoryZ25414QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GPIB-IEEE-488-HP-IB-Lead-0-6M-Long-by-NI-763061-005_W0QQitemZ280123907872QQihZ018QQcategoryZ25414QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)
and wondered if they would be suitable, I found this on the internet, but I don't want to buy a cable if it's unsuitable
"The original name for the GPIB was HPIB, or Hewlett-Packard
Interface Bus. As the name implies, the bus was designed by
Hewlett-Packard. It was subsequently accepted as the IEEE Standard
488"

Yes, that should work since the 8096-SK (and 8032-SK) uses the standard IEEE connector on the back (all other pets use a non-standard - for IEEE - edge connector). You can also order these cables from TPUG (www.tpug.ca (http://www.tpug.ca)).
