Happy almost Thanksgiving, C= and Ami fans!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, November 15, at
The Pizza Pit
2701 N. Blackstone Ave. (corner
of Blackstone and Princeton)
Fresno, California
Held over from last month's meeting is video from this year's Vintage Computer Festival East and CommVEx, and now the AmiWest Show. We'll be trying out the new IDE64 v4.1, which lets the C64 use two IDE devices and which uses a CompactFlash card, too. We'll also try out the SCSI-to-IDE-to-SD card adapter unit which replaces the mechanical drive mechanism of a CMD hard drive.
Truly,

At yesterday's FCUG meeting, in addition to spending quite a bit of time poring over IDE64 v4.1 and spending some time on repairing 2 C64's from the parts of 3 C64's, we looked over two Commodore-refurbished C128 motherboards which will go out to a forum member here. Though the boards were in Commodore-labeled boxes, I wasn't sure if they were refurbished or not, because they still had traces of heatsink paste on top of some of the chips. Brad, who has had some experience in the industry, confirmed that they were indeed refurbs by looking at the underside of each board and pointing out the areas which had been resoldered.
You learn something every day!
You're not getting the Commodore-labeled boxes, :)
