I picked up a load of 1,000++ disks a couple weeks back. As I go through them, it makes me wonder if there are any super rare titles I should keep an eye out for?
If you happen to find the C64 version of Half Life 2 I wouldn't mind a look ;-)
Hehe, no luck there!
So far for unusual, if not rare:
X-10 Home Automation Version 1.0
Family Tree 64 v2.3
Family Tree 128 v2.3
KJV - Bible Search v3.2 (128 autoboot, multiple disks)
Any BBS software? :)
I did a quick glance through all the disks and no luck on BBS software, quite a variety of terms though.

Nope, sorry. X10 is a well known automation and security products company nowadays, but I never owned the hardware. There are a few people on #c64friends who mentioned having the hardware, maybe Dragos and Tone iirc. All I know is there was a home automation system for the Commodore 64 and Apple II (maybe others) back in the day. It allowed you to turn lights on and off and control other things from your Commodore 64. A quick Google search gives a few nuggets like this.

Then I remembered a gadget I had for my old Commodore computer called an "X10 Home Control Interface". So I went through some boxes and found my old X10 stuff. I found a computer interface with 8 on/off switches, a receiver & 4 button remote, a lamp module and an appliance module. So I set up my Mom's room to turn on/off both lights by remote (no wires).

If I'm not beaten to the punch, I'll try and get some photos of it here.

O.K., I have 4 photos of the X-10 Home Control Interface. How do I attach photos here?

Ahhh .. so it's just a standard RS232 -> X10 interface box with just a cable to the C64 userport for the TTL RS232 interface :-)
Hmmm .. so chances are fairly good that the C64 software for your box would also work for the more modern RS232 -> X10 adapters out there!
Could you .D64 (Or .G64) any of the X10 software disks you might have and post them ?
Be interesting to play with.
Thanks for the pictures!

Heh, I knew that you were going to ask me that. ;) Now all I have to do is find the disk (somewhere in the house). Or I can ask my friends for the disk. In the meantime, I'll take some photos of the box and post them here.

Heh, I was looking at the C64 PowerPad I obtained from another user's collection. It was all complete, except for the all-important, special connecting cable which goes from PowerPad to the C64 joystick port. Without that cable, it is useless.
A toy that doesn't have all its parts,
