Ooo, sounds promising. Which PET did you use, Payton? Is that an 8032? BTW, we'll demonstrate CBM-Command at the July FCUG meeting.

I don't have a physical PET to test with, so I've been working with a 128K SuperPET in VICE. I could aim lower, but I know it's going to take at least 32K of RAM, if not more to run correctly. I'll cut out the D64 stuff for the PET version, which will save some space.

I'm waiting for Jim Brain to finish his uIEEE, at which time D64 support might be useful on the PET as well... Just a thought.

O.K, that leaves out the PET 8016, but I could upgrade the 8032 with another 64K RAM.

Payton, would you or someone else consider looking into making a CBM2-Command as well? Those machines run in 80 columns and have at least 128K RAM, although due to memory mapping issues you might find it a squeeze to switch banks back and forth if you need Kernel calls.
If I remember correctly, the CBM2 machines were IEEE machines. CBM-Command already has support in the code for the PET, but it doesn't work correctly on the pet because of some differences in CBM DOS on the IEEE drives (which I cannot identify). I honestly don't have time right now to start on yet another version of CBM-Command, but the source code is available for anyone to pick it up and run with.
Now that Michau is working on releasing a handy, cartridge version of Uz' old IEC routines, perhaps someone should take on another hobby project and develop the CBM2-Command port after all...
Greg King got the PET version of things working. I don't have a distribution of the PET version of CBM-Command done (it doesn't fit on the CBM-Command D64 image), but you can build it yourself from the sources. Alternatively, when I get some time I'll put together a D80 image with the PET version on it.
