Title: VDC colors/attributes
Post by: MIRKOSOFT on June 04, 2010, 05:08 PM
Hi!

If I know good, VDC can use low-nibble for color and high-nibble for LCASE/RVS/UNDERLINE/FLASH.

But look  on the variants how to use colors in these combinations:

26/$1A Foreground(7-4)/Background(3-0) color register
How can I do this? That text will have foreground (letters) and background (underlayer) colors as is shown in this combinations of these nibbles?

Thanks for every reply.

Unfortunately, while it functions that way in bitmap mode, there is no way to enable background colors on a cell-by-cell basis in text mode. It's a pretty significant oversight, but by Bil Herd's account the group behind the VDC chip weren't exactly MOS's best and brightest :/
