This is awesome! I'm not a GEOS user, so I won't be using this particular software, but I always love seeing new development for our machines.

Personally, I'd like to see the development of a user port hardware interface/kernal patch for an I2C interface. I wonder if there would be much bounty support for that?

Now that is an interesting project that I think is completely backwards.  Instead of changing the firmware, it seems it would be better to change the disk driver's used by GEOS.  Unfortunately Berkley Softworks didn't make the disk drivers as interchangeable as printer or input drivers, probably due to everybody's favorite reason: copy protection.  So maybe firmware modification is reasonable, but I don't know...
