Title: Important notice!
Post by: Blacklord on January 04, 2007, 07:32 PM
All,

This coming weekend I'm going to do some urgent maint. on the forum.

Currently, the forums are set up as a mini-portal, as they are now available off www.commodore128.org the portal function isn't really neeed - I intend restoring it back to just a simplified forum only.

Also, there are a few errors in the PHP coding for some of the add-ons & last but not least, IE 6 & 7 have various issues with the layout.

So I intend re-installing the forum software (panic not, the database will still be intact so user information & posts will still be ok).

Part of the reason for "degrading" is also that PunBB 1.3 isn't too far from release & I need a stock installation of 1.2x to upgrade.

I plan on doing this on Saturday morning about 10am (AEST).

If the backout fails, I'll revert to a saved copy of the existing site.

This will also allow me me to test move the forums over to the hosted site prior to doing it for real.

Hopefully there won't be any problems.......

Lance

Hi Lance,

Here's my experiences - Firefox (all) - displays fine, IE 6 - sidebar menus drop down the page, IE7 - categories don't collapse.

Maybe I should stick a sign on the board saying "Recommended for all browsers except Microsoft" :)

Ok - seems to have gone fine - let me know of any issues.

Note! if you're linking t the site via forum.php, better stop now - link to either index.php or just to landover.no-ip.com/128

As a bonus, all the skins seem ok too - might just add some more :)

cheers,

Lance
