Title: Source for key switch plungers
Post by: 6502Dude on January 15, 2007, 04:06 AM
Anybody know of a source for C128 key switch plungers?

I have a few function keys that have broken, usually with one corner of blue plunger breaking (where key cap is inserted).

Have a cannibalized set of cursor direction keys to fix function keys, but would like to have full set of keys operational again.

It seems "F3" tends to break most frequently on me :-(

I've seen this guy mentioned before as a source of just about any Commodore 8-bit parts one could need:

Ray Carlsen - also has done a pretty large knowledge base on troubleshooting & repairing. A couple of his mods have ended up in my 128D (the easy ones that I can do that is, like the fan & heat sinks - you _don't_ want me to go anyewhere near a circuit board with a soldering iron!).

cheers,

Lance

I have a key that is broken in exactly that way. Guess which...

Bingo. My F3 key too. What's up with that?

I really would like to get this fixed. It's driving me batty.
