Hey folks,

Well, it's 2:19 AM so perhaps that's why I can't see the answers I'm looking for in the docs so I thought I'd ask them here... (1) How do I start up VICE x128 in 80 column mode by default and (2) how do I enable/disable full screen mode?

1) I find that X128 restarts in whatever mode it was last in (as long as save settings on exit is enabled), holding F7 & doing a soft or hard reset will swap modes. (Not quite a straight answer to your original question......)

2) ALT-ENTER will do the trick.
