The .SFX are self-extracting programs.  Just LOAD and RUN with your Commodore (or emulator like VICE) to uncompress the file.  These may also be called .SDA (self-disolving archive).

For .ARC, .LZH, .LNX, look here (http://www.commodore128.org/down1.html) for programs that run in C128 mode.

Some archives files can be decompressed with CP/M programs.  My favorite is UNARJ.  A list of these are available at zimmers (http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cpm/archivers/index.html).  To use these programs on C128 CP/M, I recommend ctools (http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/crossplatform/converters/unix/ctools04.zip).  It runs in a DOS box and lets you add files to a .D64 disk image which can be used with CP/M.

To transfer to your C128 there are several methods.  If you have a 1571 or 1581 disk drive, you can use Little Red Reader, available here (http://landover.no-ip.com/files/diskfile/LRR270.SFX), to transfer files on an IBM/MS PC floppy disk.

I have not tried it myself, but you can also get an X1541 cable and use software on the PC such as Star Commander or 64HDD.
