which one do you currently use Red?

Im chasing one as Ive found a cheapish LCD with s/video, and was hoping to replace my ailing 1084S with it and an svideo switch.
#2
Mike, any chance you can ask Zrx to do this again but flip fast mode on?

:P ;D
#3
Love the plan, and Im happy to send the occasional 128 as a sacrifice :D

Has anyone managed to source any switches? I have the "other" 1084S (with the switch on the back right) and the switch has been dicky for a while, but today i only barely switched on. Has anyone found anything that works, or perhaps developed a hack for it? I wouldnt mind relocating the switch to the front somewhere

thanks

capacitors.

I had tearing like that on a Strategy-X arcade PCB, which I cured by replacing a bunch of the power rail filter caps dotted around the PCB.

so where be the d64s? :D

perhaps the only similarity is the number?

indeed, the mechs are just painted brown ones :)

I have some krylon fusion here that pretty closely matches, but I just cant bring myself to paint over the mech - it seems so novel to me :)

Hi guys

I know this is OT for this board, but amiga guys bleed over with 128 guys and these arent exactly common.

BTW, keep an eye on me, Ill be posting some other stuff soon like PET 8032, SFD1001 drives and a 1570.

thanks (and sorry for OT!)

I have a 1081 on my amiga and it has the blackest black Ive ever seen on a monitor.

is the 1081 also c128 compatible? I dont recall....

Actually I wonder if Bil could weigh in on this topic - would be interesting to hear where he thinks the bug originates from....

Herdware / Re: Can the VIC output be cleaned up ?
February 21, 2008, 09:13 PM
Apparently not. I think someone was saying that its internal to the VIC-II. Apparently even some c64s suffer from it.

I dont understand why the C128s seem worse - maybe just the chip run?

Welcome to the forums / Re: Greetings
February 21, 2008, 10:35 AM
greetings steve!

I only started using my c128 within the last couple of years (although Ive owned it for 10 years or more). I always thought the flat 128s had the new style SID in them, and I love $d418 digi stuff :) Imagine my surprise when someone told me that only the D's had the new style, and the flat 128s had the old.

Still not entirely in love with the crappy VIC-II output from the 128 though.....

Anyway, welcome!

On the same visit, Henri Rubin demonstrated his Amiga 3000 for us, pulling down separate screens running AmigaDOS, Unix, and MS-DOS (on a Bridgeboard). It was the coolest computer-related thing I have ever seen.

Heheheh, I have an Amiga 3000 with a bridgeboard :D

Here's something that would be awesome :D

A co-processor that would detect if youve switched off the VIC (I guess it would have to decode all address lines) and then use PHI1 for memory accesses. Make the copro fast and have some of its own memory, just get it to wait for PHI1 on read and write cycles to main memory.

Ive always wanted to do a fast 3D vector game utilising a copro cart to do the rendering...

:D

In my experience, asking people for offers never works. Just set a price youd be happy with and see if you get it :D

Im sure youll regret selling it though!

Hi Michael

I might just take you up on that - I was looking at getting those other ones until the guy told me the postage .... It sounds like he must fly them over and deliver them personally  :D

cc65 is great but i prefer the real machine to code on.

eeeek! Once i found cross-compiling/assembling, I could never go back :)

hats off to you!

I was thinking of keeping the PCB very simple. One side with a cartridge edge connector and the other with tracks to solder a user port connector. Then just a bunch of holes  :)

That would suit me perfectly :D Although the guys are probably right, you should probably include holes for at least 1 EPROM. Would make for easy custom carts :)
