Now that I got the Merlin 128 manual, there's one more to be had.... The dev kit manual for the HCD65 assembler... I've been trying to set up an ideal development environment on my 128, and I think Zed and HCD65 fit the bill, but would love to get more info on it.

I would use Buddy, but don't really like the idea of having to write a small BASIC program to compile SEQ files, and the EBUD editor is painful at best. With Merlin an outside editor is not even an option really, and again, the built-in editor is just plain weird...

Any help on the dev kit instructions would be greatly appreciated!

I guess that's a no :) Since it follows standard MOS syntax I can get by, but it would be nice to have some more detail. Anyway, I guess it's time to actually start programming, not dreaming about an ideal setup...

I briefly looked at the dev kit several years ago and I seem to remember that the editor had some kind of built-in help system, probably accessed by pressing HELP or F1 or something.

Otherwise the manual to Commodore's C64 assembler should probably be of some help.
